When i do artistic work i do my best to represent many aspects of our culture and teachings, like the medicine wheel or the tee pee or the sweat lodge ceremony teachings. I have been on healing and recovery journey for 30 years now (clean and sober and healing and learning and sharing) …. i do some art but not a lot as i am more into re-learning language and healing and practicing and carrying teachings. I did some rock paintings and medicine wheel dream catcher paintings and goose wing preparation work for dancers at pow wow, and did a painting on my wall at home. And I always have had friends whom are artists.
Our mission is to foster connection, opportunity, and knowledge-sharing for those who create (Oshichikesiwuk). In doing so, we empower the voices of Mushkegowuk Cree to express the sacred connection between our people, water, land, and all our relations.
We envision a future where the voices of Omushkegowuk creators (Oshichikesiwuk) are empowered and valued, ensuring a legacy of harmony between culture and sustainability that resonates through generations connected to the James Bay Coast (Nanipek).
