I have enjoyed a life surrounded by the best artists one could be taught and supported by. From my grandparents to jabans I can proudly say that we have upheld the knowledge of creating traditional apparel and art as a family.
We are proud to see many in our communities continue to work with beads, craft, and moose hide and are grateful for the knowledge that they share with us from time to time.
The importance of being familiar with entire process of creating moose hide apparel is one that entails our entire lifestyle. Hunting, skinning, tanning, stretching, and smoking are activities that often require the entire family to be apart of. This is has always been our way and our means of staying close with one another.
The creation process is also the healing process. In our work an environment of healing manifests itself creating a safe place for our stories and thoughts to be shared with those we love.

Our mission is to foster connection, opportunity, and knowledge-sharing for those who create (Oshichikesiwuk). In doing so, we empower the voices of Mushkegowuk Cree to express the sacred connection between our people, water, land, and all our relations.
We envision a future where the voices of Omushkegowuk creators (Oshichikesiwuk) are empowered and valued, ensuring a legacy of harmony between culture and sustainability that resonates through generations connected to the James Bay Coast (Nanipek).
