I watched both of my kookums when they used to make a moccasins and gauntlets using a tan moose hide. They would also make clothing out of rabbit skins and other fur pelts. My artistic journey began from a genuine inspiration from my both of my kookums. I started making beaded necklaces and earrings when I was in high school.
Our mission is to foster connection, opportunity, and knowledge-sharing for those who create (Oshichikesiwuk). In doing so, we empower the voices of Mushkegowuk Cree to express the sacred connection between our people, water, land, and all our relations.
